Today, I heard someone say something that struck a familiar chord:
“I didn’t want to bother God by asking Him for more details.”
I’ve been in that space before, so there was no judgment—just care from my heart. I wanted to assure her, and maybe you too, that it’s in our ongoing dialogue and honest conversations with God that we begin to uncover the details of His plans for our lives.
The Desire for Clarity
Wouldn’t it be nice to get the full download of God’s plans all at once?
Sure. But if that were the case, it wouldn’t require relationship.
It wouldn’t stretch us to build confidence through listening, seeking, and communing with Him regularly.
So, I asked myself:
Why do we—those made in God’s image, those He loved enough to redeem through Jesus—believe we’re somehow too much, too needy, or too bothersome for Him?
You’re Not Alone in Wondering
A quick search online shows just how common these feelings are:
- “Why do I feel like God isn’t helping me?”
- “Do you ever feel unworthy to pray?”
- “Can we bring everything to God, even our small problems?”
These questions speak to a deep, widespread hunger for clarity and connection.
And sadly, they often stem from a false perception of God’s nature—that He’s distant, easily annoyed, or uninterested in the “small stuff.”
But That’s Not Who God Is
Let’s pause here and anchor ourselves in truth:
“Come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
— Hebrews 4:16 (NLT)
Yes, boldly.
But even more than that—God invites us into partnership.
He doesn’t just want to speak at us.
He wants to walk with us.
That means we’re invited to bring:
- Our questions
- Our doubts
- Our confusion
- Our lack of clarity
Right into conversation with Him.
Planning with God, Not Without Him
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
He wants us to plan with Him, not apart from Him—aligning our steps with His will.
And if you’re wondering whether He tires of your prayers or questions?
“Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)
Yes. All of them.
- Every care.
- Every question.
- Every concern.
- All of YOU!!!
Here’s What’s True
- God doesn’t roll His eyes when you ask again.
- He doesn’t keep a tally of how many times you’ve needed help.
- He doesn’t grow weary of your voice.
- He isn’t distant or annoyed.
He is near.
And He wants to walk with you—especially in the uncertain or unclear moments.
“For we are co-workers in God’s service…”
— 1 Corinthians 3:9 (NIV)
You’re Not Bothering God—You’re Invited
So let me remind you:
✅ You are invited
✅ You are welcomed
✅ You are wanted
So ask again.
Seek clarity.
Trust His timing.
Partner with Him.
Because the God who created the universe… still wants to plan with you.
He has great plans for your life—and He wants you to know the details.
